Preparing students to acquire skills that are recognised and valued by employers is the bedrock of the School of Social Sciences. The School offers a wide range of traditional and modern disciplines with far-reaching, diverse courses.
Learning goes far beyond the perimeter of the campus, with study exchanges to the USA for those studying American Studies and for Geography students, field trips in the UK and abroad.
Sociology and Criminology courses include work alongside groups such as child protection, the police and probation hostels — all aimed at bringing real-life situations into the learning environment.
